Work Smarter So You Produce The Best Work Possible
[Issue #52]DECLARATION FOR THE DAY:
I systemize my work life for high performance.
(Say this 3 times today)
I don’t know about you, but there are some tasks that I have to do each and every week… like this newsletter!
And for the last year, I have been doing these newsletters every week.
But the last 8 weeks, I have been having a hard time keeping up, and I’ve actually gotten behind, which has caused stress on the team.
So I asked,… how can I streamline this process and all other recurring tasks I have?
Well, I answer that in this video. I let you know what I am doing and also give examples of what I have done to work smarter.
The truth is, we aren’t always “feeling” up to a task, which means that the task suffers.
We want to put our best work out there, so it’s important to prioritize high performance, and you can do that with this strategy!
Fast forward….
Fast forward to 3 years from now, where you are totally financially free.
Now, come back to today.
What would you do knowing that if you took the right action, you would be free?
You’d probably get a plan and get educated on how you’d do it, right? Well, here’s a free training from Harv to help craft that plan and give you the 8 elements to becoming free in the next 3 years.
WEEKLY THOUGHTS
Would you rather…
Ok, Ok, I know where your head is going… Lol!
We’re not playing that game.
But I would love to dive deeper into a scenario that I often feel like I need to work through.
Last January, I started to show my face in public more often to Harv’s community while also building my own community.
I started to post more on social media (I was previously focused on Harv’s) and started to play the “personal branding” game a bit more.
But I felt myself resisting my efforts.
I felt myself caring about what my “current network” would think of me. Like my old high school friends from 20+ years ago, who I don’t see or talk to.
Or my college friends… again, people I don’t even speak to…
I didn’t want to look like I was posting as a “try hard” or “trying to be something I’m not.”
And it bugged me.
So I took a minute to ask myself what I really wanted.
Did I want to have a group of people in my network to serve and show up for?
Or did I want to get held back from old friends (or acquaintances) that I never talk to anymore?
This brings me back to my childhood with Harv.
Before I attended his course, he said:
“Jesse, you have to participate. Don’t be Mr. Cool and sit there with your arms crossed.”
He went on to say, “If you try to be Mr. Cool, you won’t have the true experience because you will hold yourself back.
So, you choose. Would you rather be cool? Or would you rather be rich?”
Like a smart ass, I said, “I want to be both.” But I caught his drift and went all-in.
That lesson seems even more apparent for myself and my students.
We get caught up making up stories that people will judge us, and it holds us back from taking the action we need to succeed.
Instead of creating a plan and system, we call it unimportant or end up doing more busy work.
But deep down, we know what we need to do to succeed.
So today, my hope for you is to choose the path you know will lead you to success.
And to tell your current networks if they don’t like it, to EFF off! Haha!
Go get em! Crush this week.
To Your Success,
Jesse Eker
