That’s how I am feeling right now.
I’m in a very centered and grounded place, as my wife and I just took the weekend to go to a very small wellness retreat.
At this retreat, you aren’t allowed to have your phones, and you are focused on being connected while getting pampered a bit.
In August, I did my first digital detox.
I had another one this weekend, and WOW! It’s sooooo good.
I can’t recommend it enough.
It’s very nice to see the world around YOU instead of through the lens of other people.
Here are 3 big takeaways from this weekend.
- Make time for the people you love. I just finished a launch, I have TONS on my plate, and I could have easily said, “Let’s do it later.” But living an integrated life, with family being a priority, YOU need to create the space for spending time with the people you love.
- Quality vs. Quantity. When you spend good quality time with someone, you really don’t need massive amounts of it. So put your phone away, close your email, and spend really great quality time with your loved ones.
- Get away! I know this is a tough one, but home is home and will always be home. We drove 2 hours and were in a new environment. This is important for space and different environments to connect. I suggest you do what you can to get out (safely, of course) and enjoy different routines.
