The 10 Reasons Why Experts And Coaches Fail Online
[Issue #43]DECLARATION FOR THE DAY:
I am committed to my craft and do whatever it takes to make my dream become a reality.
(Say this 3 times today)
There are 10 common traps that experts, coaches, and entrepreneurs fall into when growing their business.
These traps cause overwhelm, burnout, and mediocre results, at best.
Today, I want to share the 10 reasons why experts, coaches, and entrepreneurs fail when they start to build their brands online.
I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
I recently read (actually listened) to a great book called Tiny Habits, by BJ Fogg.
It talks about how to truly change your behaviors in life and in what you do.
One of the biggest lessons from this book was simply that pure motivation is the hardest way to change your behavior.
Which was surprising to me because I’m constantly thinking about how I can be more motivated to do… [insert task or thing].
First off, we need to have some motivation in what we are doing, or we will never change our behavior.
But it’s the last thing we need to change to create new habits.
There are two other ways to make a change. I’m going to talk about one of them.
YOUR ABILITY is one easier way to make a permanent change.
The reason why most people don’t make changes is because they make it WAYYYYY too hard to do.
They are going for the HOME RUN instead of simply getting up to bat.
They are thinking about a total change vs. a tiny one.
Here’s an example from the book.
Let’s say you want to start meditating. Instead of committing to mediation every day for 10 days, why not commit to simply sitting in a chair and opening your timer on your phone?
That’s it.
Whether you meditate or not is not what matters. It’s simply sitting in a chair and getting a timer ready.
Now, if you decide to mediate, BOOM it’s a bonus. If not, that’s fine, because you still did what you said you would.
So, think about something you have had a hard time keeping up.
How can you make it easier? Or how can you commit to the first step of the process (not the whole thing)?
This is great timing for the new year. If we make tiny habits become big ones, we win.
Have an epic week, my friend.
To Your Success,
Jesse Eker
